Greener prescribing in Primary Care
The NHS is committed to reducing the carbon impact of inhalers, and healthcare professionals have been encouraged to change prescribing habits from pMDIs to dry powder inhalers. There have, however, been concerns within the respiratory community that this commitment might drive inappropriate script switches with adverse consequences to patients.
This session will examine the context of the environmental prescribing agenda and focus on the patient at the centre of prescribing decisions, and how by improving prescribing practice in a targeted manner will produce benefits for patients whilst also reducing the carbon impact of inhaler devices.
