Lead Nurse for Education and Clinical Support,
FeNO by NIOX
My interest in respiratory care began as a practice nurse in Trafford, Manchester, many years ago!
I am now a primary care respiratory nurse specialist and qualified teacher with a wide range of experience within the N.H.S., occupational health, research, the pharmaceutical industry and education. I have been involved in education, which is my passion! for approximately 20 years.
My current role is as Lead Nurse for Education and Clinical Support for The NIOX Group where I am responsible for the design and delivery of masterclass educational events on the topic of asthma and Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide Testing (FeNO).
I also work with a number of other organisations and training providers, delivering training for a range of health care professionals. Topics include asthma, COPD, spirometry and FeNO. Organisations include M&K Update, Primary Care Respiratory Training Centre plus a number of pharmaceutical companies.
In previous roles I have worked as part of the senior management team as Team Leader and Training Lead for the landmark Salford Lung Study, and prior to this role I was working nationally as Head of Short Course Provision for Respiratory Education UK.
Before this I was a Senior Clinical Nurse Advisor and responsible for the delivery of specialist clinical nursing services to healthcare professionals and patients in primary and secondary care. This also included training and development of regional and national nurse teams.
I have national and international experience providing education and training. International work includes working with the Ministry of Defence in Cyprus where I have provided training for both military and civilian health care professionals.
I am particularly interested in contemporary diagnostic and management technologies for inflammatory asthma including the application and accurate use of FeNO testing.
