Rhia Micklewright
Physiotherapist,
UHB
As a Senior Physiotherapist at University Hospitals Birmingham, I have developed my role over the last 5 years to help and empower patients living with chronic lung disease to manage their breathlessness and work towards their physical goals through exercise. I am passionate about helping those I work with and have strong interests in respiratory health, health behaviour change and incorporating strength and conditioning principles into rehabilitation and enablement for older people. I’m a huge believer in keeping lungs, muscles and people strong, and not a huge believer in limits.
Delivering Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Respiratory Outpatient services across Birmingham I continue to see the direct benefit of physiotherapy incorporating strength and conditioning on older adults and chronic lung disease, I continue to deliver and promote education, training and supervision for Physiotherapy students, support staff, Nursing staff and the wider MDT.
