Shirley is a Clinical Scientist, Lead of the Sleep Service at Wye Valley Trust. She is also a part-time Physiology Lecturer at Swansea University. She has affiliations with University of the West of England Bristol, the Academy for Health Care Science and is the secretary of the ARTP Examinations Committee. She has a particular interest in domiciliary ventilation, sleep disorders, exercise physiology and occupational lung disease.
