Terry Robinson
Respiratory Nurse Consultant,
Harrogate District Hospital
I have worked at Harrogate now for 19 years. Prior to my appointment I was a respiratory nurse trainer, working across North Yorkshire. I was also a Practice Nurse for many years. I manage a dedicated team of respiratory nurses who offer excellent care to patients both in the Hospital and in the community. My role is 50% clinical, where I run specialist clinics and 50% non-clinical, where I do audit and research, develop guidelines, and develop new services. I also arrange specialist respiratory training for other health care professionals regionally and chair the Yorkshire Respiratory Interest Group and was the first nurse to be appointed president of the Yorkshire Thoracic Society.
I have several published papers and co-written a respiratory nurse textbook for nurses and second edition has just been published. I have presented at international conferences and have been awarded the Nursing Times Respiratory Nurse of the Year 2004 and the Health Service Journal Respiratory team of the year 2003. When not at work I am an avid reader. I also enjoy restoring properties and interior design.
