Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine, Ninewells Hospital
He studied pre-clinical and clinical medicine at Cambridge University, graduating in 1999. His research on "Optimising Anti Inflammatory Therapy in Persistent Asthma” was awarded MD and he received the Ralph Nobel Prize in 2009. He is Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at Ninewells Hospital and Honorary Reader in the University of Dundee. He is the NHS Tayside lead for cystic fibrosis and co-lead the bronchiectasis and difficult infection service in Tayside. Dr Fardon runs our local paediatric to adult transition service and contribute to our difficult asthma service. He is Associate Post Graduate Dean for the Eastern Region of the Scottish deanery and sit on the Professional Standards Committee for the University of Dundee Medical School. He is the clinical lead for the NHS Tayside Managed Clinical Network for respiratory medicine, Chair of the Scottish Government National Advisory Committee for Respiratory Medicine, Respiratory Lead for the Scottish Access Collaborative, and Lead of the Scottish Government Respiratory Care Improvement Plan. He is Secretary of the Scottish Thoracic Society, and a clinical reviewer for EMBARC, the ERS, and SMC, and on the Editorial Board for Thorax.
